Tyler Gaw - Web Developer

About Me

Just another small town white boy living, working, and just generally enjoying life to the fullest in New York City.

In the Big Apple I am working as a Front-end Web Engineer with Back-end Development Tendencies at the amazing web/software development group arc90, they are the bee's knees, seriously.

My Work

The Coffee Café

www.coffeeteawine.com screenshot
Role: Lead Designer/Lead Developer

If you live in the Central Florida area and are looking for a top-quality coffee shop with a very comfortable "down home cookin'" type of atmosphere, The Coffee Café is your spot. I set out to design a site for them that was conclusive with their current branding and aims to embody their warmth and comfort. The site is built with the same semantics and standards that are a staple of my work.

My Pink Planner

Role: Lead Designer/Lead Developer

The goal of MyPinkPlanner.com was to provide breast cancer survivors an online avenue to help maintain a schedule in today's busy life. The site needed to give it's users all of the functionality necessary to accomplish these tasks and at the same time be very easy to use. With these goals in mind I developed an online application that would be easy to use, regardless of the user's internet savvy.

Digi Craft Productions

www.digicraftproductions.com screenshot
Role: Lead Designer/Lead Developer

Whew! Digi Craft Productions is a small production house with big needs. Digi Craft's portfolio and range of offered services had gotten a bit too big for it's previous site's britches. It was time for some serious GAW Web Stomping®, in with the proverbial "big hammer" we came; knocking pixels half way 'round the internet and back. When the dust settled the new www.digicraftproductions.com was reborn from the fury.

Bay Hill Eyecare

Role: Lead Designer/Lead Developer

Bay Hill Eyecare & Eyewear in Orlando, FL was in need of an "Extreme Web Site Makeover®". To compliment their new and improved site design, I added a number of fun extra features including; the home page content preview slideshow, which if you are in the web nerd know, is 100% unobtrusive Javascript. Also an AJAX powered eyewear gallery for a quick preview of the eyewear styles offered by Bay Hill. The gallery is also Javascript independent.

Custom Body Works

Role: Lead Designer/Lead Developer

If you can't use your abilities to help your mother, what good are they? When my mom decided to start her own massage and body treatments business there was no way that I could, in good conscience, not provide her with a top-notch website to help promote the business and provide her customers with information about the services offered.

Majestic Marble

Role: Lead Designer/Lead Developer

When your business is smooth and clean marble, it is a given that you have a web site that mirrors your product. Majestic Marble contacted my employer with that very request. The site is not just a pretty face, it serves its purpose as well. Within a day of site launch the owners let us know that they had already received their first online leads.

Digi Craft 2007

www.digicraftproductions.com screenshot
Role: Front-end Engineer

The site had a good run, but it was time to let the new in the door with DCP 2008.

The advertising studio was in need of a straight-forward, easy-to-use presentation of their offered services and portfolio. Working alongside Brandon Miller, we created a site that accomplishes just that, giving potential clients of Digi Craft the ability to get a real sense of the work that they are able to do for them.

13 Days

www.13daysonline.com screenshot
Role: Lead Designer/Lead Flash Developer

As metal as metal bands come, 13 days needed a site that looks as hard as they sound. They also needed the ability to make changes to the site with the click of a mouse. Armed with that knowledge I created a site that met the visual needs of the band and also a custom CMS that allows them to easily make updates to all of the site's public content.

Tyler Gaw v 1.0

tylergaw.com v 1.0 screenshot
Role: I think I did this one too :)

You gotta start things somewhere. This is the first version of tylergaw.com. Developed for one of my final projects while in college, it was used to showcase the work I had completed during my quick two years at Full Sail and help me land my first job in the new media field.

This version of the site was featured on www.designmeltdown.com and the September 3rd, 2006 www.dailyslurp.com. Not too bad for first try...if I do say so myself.
